A couple months ago, I ran out of room in my previous three drawer set. So a trip to the container store has long been in the plans.
I've been thinking about getting a different structure, like the Melmers that are so popular among nail bloggers. But for now I've gone with the cheaper and more colourful option - more drawers that connect to my existing colours.
I pondered colours for a while. The options are purple, green, blue, pink, orange, white, and black. The first three are what I bought the last time, since they're my favourite colours. I played with the combinations for a while, and finally settled on pink and orange. They're not my preferred colours, but I like how they look with my other three colours. Very colourful and inviting. :)
The drawers, freshly added and still empty. You can see some of my nail polish mess next to it.
I started by reorganizing the bottom drawer. I have this box with nail supplies in it. Except for it was previously mostly taking up room, and had very few supplies I actually used in it. Now the space is better used. :)
The bottom drawer. Yay organization! I also had to take out a bunch of near-empty bottles.
The next drawer up. This contains whites, greys, blacks, glitters, crackles, magnetics, and stripers.
The drawer above. This contains purples, golds, browns, and beiges.
The drawer above. This one contains blues, teals, and greens.
And the top drawer, containing pinks, reds, oranges, and yellows.
The whole thing.
It pleases me that pinks are in the pink drawer and purples are in the purple drawer. :D Other than that, this is still subject to reorganization. I had hoped to have one drawer with the warm colours (pink, red, orange, yellow), one drawer with the cool colours (green, teal, blue, purple), one drawer with the rest of the colours (brown, beige, white, grey, black), and one drawer with the remainders (glitter, crackle, etc.). However, this didn't quite work out because I have a lot of green/teal/blue range polishes, so purple wouldn't fit in that drawer. But the warm colours are my least favourite, so I have a ton of space in that drawer.
Anyway, things to think about. :)
The paper plate collection at this point. :) Though I should probably redo one of the plates, because it includes some of my mom's polishes, so it doesn't accurately represent my stash. But the rest of the plates are good. Need to add another one soon!
And that brings you up to date on the entirety of my polish stash and storage. :)

08/22/13 - Glow in the Dark Speckles
So I've actually been planning this design for over a month, possibly a month and a half. I had hoped to do it before my trip to the UK, but I ran of out time. Thus while there I did the glowy design you did see, but I was really thinking ahead to this one. But it's okay, because the interim design got me doubly excited about this one, because I've discovered I love having the glow in the dark polish on my toes!
Ta-da! Glow in the dark speckles. :)
This is a base of OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls, then with striping tape I did Serum No. 5 - Day Glow, and then after removing that, I did Maybelline - Clearly Spotted. It looks just as cool as I hoped it would.
Here's a progress picture, with before and after Clearly Spotted.
Here's a close-up of my big toe. Clearly Spotted looks really cool close up!
And, of course, more glow-y. :) I had a really hard time capturing it on camera, but it definitely shows in real life.
Fun stuff. :)

08/22/13 - Swirly Loop
Hello all!
After such a long break from nail art, I was really struggling with what to do next. I have a few ideas, but nothing that really screamed, "Yes, do that one!" So I was talking with my boyfriend and said, "Honey, what should I do with my nails?" This isn't too uncommon. And he'll usually suggest something, often something that's just a bit beyond the realms of my current possibility. But today he thought for a moment and responded, "You should do a swirly design on each nail, and the swirl from one nail will end at where it starts on the next nail. And each nail will be a different colour, like red and green and blue and maybe some others. And your thumb will have all the swirls meeting in the centre." And I stared at him, and I thought about it, and I said, "Okay." And then it was done!
I started with OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls, and then used Julie G. - Cherry on Top, Brash - Gone Bananas, Kleancolor - Grass Geen, and CQ - Tropics to make the swirls.
With my fingers more carefully aligned, you can better see that I tried to start each design where the last one left off.
I think this design was fun, because it's pretty simple, but has just enough complexity to stretch my brain a bit. :)

Swatch: Barry M. - Matt White
As you might remember, when I arrived in London I found my white polish broken. So I bought Barry M. - Matt White as a replacement.
This is two coats. It's exactly what it should be - a white polish. Nothing too special about it.
Of the three whites I've now had, I'm not sure whether this is better or worse than Pure Ice - Super Star. Probably pretty dang similar.
Thanks for being a nice white polish, Matt White.

07/25/13 - Glowy Toes
The last time I redid my nails, I also redid my toes. But it was also in the middle of my time in London and I was exhausted, so I didn't really do anything too interesting.
Basically, I applied Barry M, - Matt White, then did random lines with the regular nail polish brush of Serum No. 7 - Day Glow and China Glaze - Fairy Dust.
From afar, it basically just looks like my nails are yellowish white.
BUT the magic happens at night, because the glowy lines do indeed glow. :D
That's not a great picture of it, but in reality, it's pretty awesome. My roommates noticed once when I was walking to bed. They were so confused - "Do you have a light? ..are your toes glowing?" Why yes, yes they are. :)

Oops! Update
Oops! It's been a while since I posted.
As some of you probably know, I've been really busy! I was out of town for five days, then out of the country for four weeks, then out of town for three days, then out of town for another five days. It's honestly a bit surprising I managed to change my nails and post to this blog once in that time!
I am back home now and am looking forward to redoing my nails when I get the chance. :)
In the mean time I'll post a couple posts that I was going to post a while ago and kind of got busy and forgot.
I hope you're looking forward to new posts from me as much as I am. :)
